Alumina Neutral (pH 6-8) with UV254, analytical, polyester backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 5x20cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds. To ensure sufficient adherence an inert organic binder is added to the aqueous suspension for coating. The aluminum oxide layer has a specific surface of about 200 m2/g (BET) and a pore size of about 60A. To activate the aluminum oxide layer, we recommend heating the TLC plates for 10 minutes at 120C.

This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C18-W (Wettable) Silica layer. It can be used in both normal phase or reversed phase separations with eluents from anhydrous solvents to mixtures with high concentrations of water. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 2-10um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to an aluminum support. It has a thickness of 150um and dimensions of 4x8cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: aminophenols, barbiturates, preservatives, nucleobases, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, steroids, tetracyclines, plasticizers (phthalates)

Preparative TLC plates have adsorbent layers thicker than the 250 micron layers normally used for analytical separations. Thus, preparative plates can be used for separation of larger quantities of materials. The loading capacity for a given degree of sample component resolution increases roughly as the square root of the increased adsorbent layer thickness. In preparative TLC, materials to be separated are often applied as long streaks rather than spots. After development, specific compounds may be recovered by scraping the adsorbent layers from the plate in the region of interest and eluting the separated material from the adsorbent using a strong solvent. Resolv-Rf™ Silica Hard Layer (HL) TLC Plates are made with standard grade Silica 60, which has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical hard layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 5x20cm. There are 100 plates per pack. Resolv-Rf™ TLC Plates are suitable for all common separations. The layer has a hardness that is abrasion resistant and can be easily labeled with a lead pencil for clear identification. The dense coating yields narrow bands for a high separation efficiency. Applications include: drug synthesis compounds, identity of drugs, food and environmental samples, quality control testing of pharmaceuticals, etc. Made in the U.S.A.
